Deal Builder Update – Winter 2024/25

What’s new with Deal Builder as we begin 2025? 

We've been busy working to improve Deal Builder in the last few months, aiming to deliver the best buying experience possible as we enter the new year. 

 

Improving the deals cancellation process 

To enable more timely and actionable insights when a deal is cancelled, we’ve introduced a series of improvements to the deal cancellation process within Portal. 

These improvements will help you better engage with your customers, optimise your sales process, and improve deal retention.

Launching Deal Builder for Vans

In November Deal Builder was enabled for Vans. For retailers already on Deal Builder, all Van stock was automatically added, giving van buyers an easier way to buy, with even more choice, with the same omnichannel journey available for cars.

Finance commissions

Following the recent court of appeal ruling on finance commissions, we’ve updated the Deal Builder finance journey to make information about commission clearer at key points in the within the journey. 

As part of this change, we’ve also added a handy link within the FAQs, found in the side panel within the Deal Builder journey, with details such as: what commissions are, what a credit broker is and how commissions work on Auto Trader. 

 

A new process if your lender is unable to provide an estimate

If, for whatever reason, your finance lender is unable to provide your customers with an estimate, such as if the customer has terms that are ineligible for finance, your customers will now still be able to attach their finance terms to the deal. 

Upon seeing our ‘we could not find any results’ page, your customers can choose to attach their terms anyway. These will then be added to their deal and be shown to you in Sales Hub. 

 

These improvements have all been designed to improve your Deal Builder experience whilst driving greater performance within your business. They come as part of the continuous enhancements that we are making to the Deal Builder journey to create the best possible experience for retailers and car buyers.
