Giving consumers choice over the reservation
Consumers expect choice and flexibility in how they buy a vehicle, with varying preferences for how much of the buying journey they complete online.
That’s why, as part of our continuous approach to optimising Deal Builder, we’ll be making some exciting changes which aim to help improve the consumer experience and drive better outcomes for you.
Making the reservation of the vehicle an optional step
This week we’ll be introducing a ‘recommended reservation’ into the Deal Builder journey, rather than the reservation always being mandatory step.
This means the buyer can choose to skip paying the £99 reservation fee. As a result, the vehicle won’t be marked as ‘Reserved’ and will remain available to other potential buyers.
You don’t need to do anything differently if you receive a deal without a reservation, simply contact the customer in the same way, and then choose to complete or cancel the deal.
Reducing the reservation holding period to 48 hours
Based on feedback from retailers, we’re also shortening the reservation holding period to 48 hours, down from the current 72 hours.
This means the customer will be told they have up to 2 days to agree a sale with you before the vehicle will be put back on sale.
We’ll be monitoring these changes to ensure we’re delivering a great customer experience and the best outcomes for you.
