Improving the consumer experience

We are advancing our search experience to meet the evolving needs of consumer in an increasingly complex marketplace. As a result of these advancements we have introduced grid view for desktop search.

We’ve made it easier for buyers to find the vehicles they’re looking for on our site by adding a VAT Filter into search. Meaning buyers can search by VAT status and find the Van that’s right for them.

We introduced a series of updates to our product page, designed to help you craft high-quality adverts that highlight your unique value and resonate with consumers. This includes the introduction of Line Breaks - a frequently requested addition - and increasing the prominence of your retailer information.

Earlier this year, we added Dark mode to our apps. This was a heavily requested feature to our app and comes as part of our efforts to improve the consumer experience across all platforms.
Making Auto Trader the destination for brand-new cars
Launching our Found AT Campaign
In the summer we launched our biggest new car marketing campaign. The goal of the campaign was to make Auto Trader as known for our new car offering as we are for used. Reaching an estimated 96% of the UK population 35 times across various channels, this helped us ensure we’re always front mind with consumers and helped to bring eyeballs to your new car adverts.
Partnership with What Car?
Back in September we announced our new multi-year Partnership with What Car? As part of this Partnership all in stock and available soon brand-new cars advertised on Auto Trader are now also displayed and accessible on What Car? This partnership revolutionises the new car buying experience and helps bring even more buyers to your adverts.
Brand-New Car smell campaign
Earlier in the year we launched a PR focused campaign in support of the Found AT campaign, in collaboration with TV personality Fred Sirieix. Featured across press and social media, the campaign helped to bring younger buyers to your Auto Trader adverts.
Building trust with buyers and recognising retailer success
Highly Rated 2024
In July we announced this year’s winners of our Highly Rated Award, with over 1800 retailers winning the award retailers continued to build trust through reviews and giving buyers the confidence to purchase from them.

Our annual retailer awards returned for another year, celebrating the very best of automotive retailing and providing insight into the latest industry trends.
Enabling Bulk review requests
We introduced a feature to request reviews in Bulk, making it easier retailers to request more than one review at a time. Helping you to collect more reviews faster and build trust with consumers.

Earlier this year we launched season 2 of our celebrity podcast – Show on the Road, helping bring a fresh audience to our site and putting Auto Trader front of mind for potential car buyers.

We’ve continued to raise our brand awareness and build on the success of our monthly EV giveaway and our first ever Ultimate Car Hunt LIVE, helping to strengthen our reputation as the platform for electric vehicles and attracting attention across social media.
Building a stronger Partnership
